Brendan Rodgers is going to experience a very different type of transfer window at his new club.
Rodgers became manager of Al Qadsiah in December, a Saudi Pro League side with intentions of spending big money.
67 Hail Hail believe that Rodgers’ pay packet may have quadrupled since leaving Celtic while the Hoops also have lots of money in the bank.
The Northern Irishman will want to bring in his own players and reports have suggested that Qadsiah could move for Callum McGregor, and it seems that he will get the wish he had hoped would be granted at the Hoops.
Can Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic spell be salvaged by a good transfer window?
Brendan Rodgers says he will be allowed to spend big in transfer window
One of the sticking points that eventually led to Rodgers’ resignation at Celtic was the lack of backing in the transfer window.
Last summer, the Bhoys scrambled around for signings after failing to secure a number of targets, eventually settling for Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer.
That won’t be happening in the Middle East, though, with Rodgers claiming that he will be splashing the cash.
He said: “The management of the club will strongly support the team in this month’s transfer window. We have suffered from absences and we are used to this and I am optimistic about Al-Qadisiyah’s ability to strengthen the team during the winter.”
Rate Pauls Tisdale’s performance as Celtic’s head of operations in the comments below.
'In my role I will be doing all I can to further develop our work across talent identification, development and analytics, always with the aim of ensuring high-level support of football performance.'
The Celtic board should get their wallet out in transfer window
As we have established many times, Celtic are not short of a few quid.
Dermot Desmond and the rest of the hierarchy have been stockpiling it for some time, with 67 Hail Hail suggesting that they could spend north of £50m if they really did desire.
Of course, the chances of that happening are slim at best, but the Bhoys still need to spend.
Wilfried Nancy wants four signings at the very least to bolster his squad to suit his style.
That requires spending money, and it is about time that Celtic did.
