Celtic make the journey north to face Aberdeen tonight as they look to lay down a marker in the Scottish Premiership against their closest challengers.
Currently, the Bhoys preside over a four-point gap and have played a game less than the Dons heading into a night expected to be filled with drama at Pittodrie.
Last time out, Celtic thrashed Ross County to extend their lead at the summit before Aberdeen failed to return the favour against Hearts, picking up a point with tonight’s fixture finely poised as anticipation builds ahead of kick-off.

Rangers have been some way off Brendan Rodgers’ men this season as evidenced by the current standings, with Aberdeen firmly in front as the reigning Scottish Premiership champions’ closest challengers.
Despite the overwhelmingly positive Celtic outlook after an unbeaten start to the season, Pittodrie is never an easy place to go, and the Bhoys have their work cut out against Aberdeen to claim what would be a statement victory in the North East.
Whatever happens, there is a long old season ahead for everyone involved, and Rodgers has shed some light on how he feels the title race is shaping up.
Brendan Rodgers on the Scottish Premiership title race
Speaking yesterday to the press ahead of Celtic’s trip to Aberdeen, Rodgers admitted that there is still a long way to go before drawing definitive conclusions on how the title race could sit this season.
He stated: “It’s still such a long way to go. At this moment in time if we win the game, ok, you get a bit of a gap against the team behind you.
“But it’s still such a long way to go and so many games. I think it’s always nice if you can go to one of your rivals and put in a good performance and get the points.”
Later, he added: “You can only worry about yourself. You can’t control what other people think.
“I think you can only go and look to perform. That’s our notion going into every game. Our objective getting into the game is to work even harder than we did Saturday and perform.
“Really that’s all we can think about. Every game is an opportunity for us to impose our style in the game. We know it will be a tough game. The crowd will be very vocal behind their team. It’s still a big opportunity for us. We’ve played in difficult grounds and difficult atmospheres and coped very well.”
Brendan Rodgers knows Celtic can’t afford to get carried away
As supporters, our job is to get excited and carried away as Celtic look to extend an unbeaten start to the season. That is the beauty of football when your team is playing well.
However, the manager is very clear that his group are keeping a level head at this stage, which is the right approach in a campaign where so much is still to unfold.
Celtic harbour a healthy gap at the moment and have the opportunity to build on that, but there is a long way to go before anything is set in stone.
