Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he has had “no contact” from Celtic over a Scottish Premiership winners’ medal.
In a rare mention of the Scottish champions in his Saudi bubble, the ex-Parkhead boss was asked about the medal after his former club secured the title.
Rodgers took charge of nine of Celtic’s 38 Scottish Premiership matches, winning five. He resigned in acrimonious circumstances in October.
There doesn’t seem to have been any effort made to re-establish contact, as the 53-year-old has revealed.

Brendan Rodgers: Celtic have not contacted me
Asked directly at his final pre-match press conference of the Saudi Pro League season, Rodgers said: “No, Celtic have not contacted me at all about a medal.
“My focus is on trying to win the last game of the season.

“Our mentality will be the same as in the first game I managed. I want to thank the [Al-Qadsiah] players for their efforts this season.
“Even if there isn’t much motivation for the team, we will show the same urgency as usual because if we don’t play with a winning mentality, the players will lose their focus.”
In fairness to Rodgers, he has done a stellar job with Al-Qadsiah, securing a fourth-placed finish with the side who were only promoted in 2024.
He completed a double over Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Al-Nassr in the process. In fact, his points-per-game of 2.38 exceeds that of both his spells in Glasgow.
This is just the second time he has been asked any Celtic-related question since his sudden, explosive departure.
The first was about his infamous ‘Honda Civic’ comments, which go down as one of the most infamous quotes from his time in Glasgow.
Is Brendan Rodgers a Celtic legend?
Brendan Rodgers’ final months at Celtic
Rodgers is known for his political approach to media handling – but this season, he took it to a whole different level.
His first press conference after the closure of the transfer window was quite something. He described feeling ’empty’, and blasted the ‘cowardly action’ of a club insider who briefed against him.
When asked if he knew the identity of the leak, he said ‘no’… with a subtle wink.
But if there’s one comment which sealed his fate, it was probably that analogy in Dundee, which was widely derided in the media.
