Celtic have two massive fixtures this week that Brendan Rodgers needs to negotiate if he wants to keep his blistering start to the season going.

The Celtic boss faces Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League tonight as the Hoops look to get out of the league phase.

And on Sunday, Celtic face Rangers in the League Cup final as both Glasgow clubs look to win the first piece of available silverware this season.

But speaking ahead of the big game tonight, a Croatian journalist asked Rodgers which game is considered the most important for the club and the Celtic fans and the Hoops boss did not hesitate with his answer.

Celtic ‘haven’t even thought’ about Rangers ahead of Dinamo Zagreb clash

Rodgers told the assembled press conference, “Oh every game. Every game is so important as a Celtic manager and player and that’s why and what we prepare for every day.

“So we haven’t even thought about the Rangers game yet.

”We know we are very much focused on our game at the weekend and straight away after that game we focus on the game.

”Because the one thing that you can make the mistake of in football is that you can think of more than one thing and for me, it’s really about really focusing intensely on this game.

“So that’s our focus. The minute it finishes tomorrow night we can then get ready to prepare and be ready for Sunday.

“And that is clearly a massive game for us but tomorrow night is huge.”

Celtic’s season could be about to be lit up in just six short days

If Celtic can win tonight in Zagreb then they are guaranteed Champions League football after the league phase concludes next month.

Rodgers will earn the plaudits of the Celtic support and the thanks of the Hoops board as another glamour tie and Champions League millions head towards Parkhead in 2025.

As for the League Cup final, Celtic could compound Rangers’ poor start to their season and practically bury the Ibrox club with a Hampden win.

Picking the League Cup on Sunday will deliver a huge psychological blow to Philippe Clement’s team and put Celtic on course for a record ninth domestic treble.
