Celtic’s hunt for fresh faces and new talent continues this summer as Brendan Rodgers looks to improve the club’s fortunes in Europe.
The Celtic manager has a need for a new goalkeeper after the retirement of Joe Hart and has indicated several other positions that require strengthening this summer.
But it seems that Rodgers may already have a player at the club who can provide the quality he needs and he is one that pundit, Gordon Dalziel believes will be huge for Celtic next season.
Nicolas Kuhn will be a ‘big player’ for Celtic next season
Nicolas Kuhn joined Celtic in the January window of this year and due to health issues, he suffered from erratic form.
Now that he has made a full recovery, Dalziel has highlighted the German winger to be one of the most important players at the club next season.
And when asked if Celtic are still to see the best of Kuhn, Dalziel said [Superscoreboard], “Yeah, I think so. And I think he’s saying all the right things. I think he knows that.
“He came in and he wasn’t ready to hit the ground running because of the situation with his teeth and his weight loss. Any player will tell you if you get a good pre-season under your belt, it sets you up for the rest of the season.
“It really does. The most important part of a season is getting your fitness, your runs in, getting games, getting the sharpness and working with the fitness coaches as well. And I’m sure he’s doing that.
“He’s got good talent. Of that, there’s no doubt. I think he could be a big, big player for Celtic.

“But he’s got bags of competition because you’ve seen the form of James Forrest and Daizen Maeda’s there as well.”
The Celtic winger has already vowed that he will ‘show everyone’ what he can do now that his illness is over and done with.
Kuhn enjoyed some good form towards the end of last season and he contributed to Celtic’s double win. If the former Rapid Vienna man can start the new season off as he finished the previous one, Dalziel could be right.
Celtic could have a very big player on their hands.
