Today’s Scottish Cup semi-final can’t have been an easy watch for Rangers-minded pundits but for Brian Laudrup, one Celtic star stood out on the day.
After watching his old club succumb 1-0 to the Hoops, Laudrup warned Celtic to take nothing for granted in the final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, whilst lavishing praise on the man of the match, Cameron Carter-Vickers.
Speaking post-match on Viaplay, Laudrup said, “He was definitely Man of the Match. He was outstanding.

“I have to say, remember Euro 92. Stranger things can happen in the final but you’re absolutely right. Celtic are huge favourites. But having said that Carter-Vickers and the Celtic defence had to really dig deep today. I mean, especially in the second half they’re under so much pressure. But hat’s off, they did very well.”
Carter-Vickers, quite rightly, is enjoying all the plaudits after an brave performance helped take Celtic into another Hampden final.
In a bittersweet moment for the American defender, Carter-Vickers can celebrate today’s victory knowing full well that he won’t be able to take part in the final.
Ange Postecoglou confirmed at full-time that Carter-Vickers season is over as he faces surgery to correct an ongoing problem that he has been playing through over the last few weeks.
With the league title almost wrapped up and Yuki Kobayashi waiting in the wings, Celtic at least have ample cover to allow the big defender to recover and come back fit and raring to go next season.
