Brendan Rodgers and Celtic may be under a cloud at the moment.
But over the last 14 years, the Hoops have won 13 titles – despite tough times coming and going over that period.
Celtic being in difficulty does not necessarily mean that they won’t win the league – especially when Rodgers is around.
Not least because Rangers are going through struggles of their own at the moment, with Russell Martin enduring an extremely tough start to life at Ibrox.
In the eyes of Martin’s predecessor, Rodgers’ revealing comments could spell trouble for Celtic’s Glasgow rivals.
Brendan Rodgers will come out fighting now says Barry Ferguson
Barry Ferguson shared a dugout with Rodgers twice last season, whilst in interim charge at Ibrox – but his chances of reigniting a title race were near-zero given the points gap.

And speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, he expressed fears that Celtic could be at it again this season, despite the manager’s frustrations.
Asked if he could believe that Celtic were still in this position, he said: “No, I can’t. I honestly thought they would’ve strengthened the team.
“Because I believe that when you do bring success to the club, that’s the best time to strengthen. You can hear he’s disappointed. But I can see him being fired up now that it’s closed.
“He’s obviously been down a bit, he didn’t get the players that he wanted, but I think he’ll come out fighting now, if I’m brutally honest. That’s what I get from the interviews. Yes, there’s disappointment, but he’s one of the leaders, and he’ll take this next period of games head-on.”
The Hoops may not have strengthened as Rodgers would like, but they still have new signings to bed in and potentially play a huge part in their season.
Is this Brendan Rodgers’ most challenging season at Celtic?
Rodgers’ first season of his second spell was a challenging one which saw Celtic in a race for the title through much of the season.
The problem on that occasion wasn’t a lack of signings, but a lack of quality signings – the likes of Gustaf Lagerbielke, Odin Thiago Holm and Maik Nawrocki struggled to make an impact on arrival.
Will this season be even more challenging? A crucial difference could be how well Rangers fare under Martin, and whether a serious title challenge is mounted.
But as fan frustration continues, the experience of Rodgers and the side’s other leaders will be decisive in navigating the situation.
