BT Sport will air half-hour highlights of Celtic’s glorious 2012 victory against Barcelona this Thursday night, on BT Sport 3 at 8:30pm.
The broadcaster’s schedule shows the match airing between another Barcelona classic against Bayer Leverkusen and an old UFC event.
It was, of course, a hugely famous night in the history of the club.
In the midst of celebrating the club’s anniversary, 60,000 souls packed Celtic Park to witness Neil Lennon’s Bhoys beat Barcelona, arguably the best team in the world at the time, by a 2-1 margin in the Champions League.
Goals from Victor Wanyama and Tony Watt secured the victory, with Lionel Messi scoring a late consolation effort.
It was part of a European campaign under Lennon that saw us reach the last 16 of the competition, where we would be sadly beaten by a rampant Juventus outfit.
With fans required by the government to stay at home unless partaking in key work, food shopping or daily physical activity, it could be the perfect shutdown programming.
It’s all part of the current efforts from TV stations to keep people entertained in the absence of live football.
Last week BT Sport aired a brilliant Celtic win over Juventus in the same competition.
This weekend there’s more Hoops action on the way, with BBC Scotland broadcasting two Celtic matches from Scottish football history, though both are defeats.
There are no regular Celtic matches to get excited about but fans have the perfect opportunity to reminisce and relive some old classics.
We’ll keep you posted if we find anything else noteworthy on the TV schedules in the coming weeks.
