Callum McGregor is sure that Martin O’Neill will be involved at Celtic next season.
The exact role in which that will be remains to be seen, but the influential voice of the Parkhead captain has made his stance clear.
Celtic’s 3-1 win over Dunfermline completed a league and Scottish Cup double that looked unlikely for many parts of the season.

Martin O’Neill has ‘legendary status’ at Celtic, Callum McGregor says
Asked by BBC Scotland if he would like O’Neill to stay, McGregor said: “Yeah, absolutely.
“I think he’s been fantastic since he came back in. Obviously, the second time as well; it takes a bit of courage to come back after what happened in December.

“Backed up by amazing staff members as well, and a huge collective — the manager has legendary status at the club.
“I’m sure he will be involved in some capacity anyway, but the team have been fantastic. He’s drove them on, and we’ve won the double, so he can enjoy that as well.”
On the cup triumph itself, McGregor said: “Yeah, they’re all special.
“Probably, off the back of a difficult season, everything the team’s had to go through… it makes it all the sweeter as well, you know?
“Off the effort last week, three massive games in a week, and then a little bit of down time, and then you’ve got to get yourself going again. The expectation’s there. You have to come and win.
“Second half, not great, but listen, we’ve done a lot of work in the first half. Finals are never easy, and you’ve always got to weather the storm a little bit.
“So I thought the team did fantastic, and now we can enjoy our summer.”
