Celtic captain, Callum McGregor, has offered some valuable advice to the young Celtic players who are on the verge of the Celtic first team.
Brendan Rodgers took a variety of young Celtic hopefuls on the Japan Tour as we saw the likes of Bosun Lawal, Ben Summers and Rocco Vata continue their development in the first-team set-up.
And Callum McGregor has offered some important advice to those players who are desperate to make a career at Paradise in the coming season.

McGregor said [Celtic YouTube], “Don’t be late for a start. I think it’s always good for the young players to come on these trips and be about the first team, be about the standards.
“First and foremost you have to be disciplined, you have they have to be on time for team meetings. You have to be on time for training and like I said, you follow the example that the senior players set.
“And pre-season is always a really important thing where as a group, you set the standards and you set the level of how you want to walk through the season.
“So I think for the young lads coming through the biggest thing is discipline and standards and when you get your opportunity to play, obviously, you try and impress the manager and the staff and try and gain a bit of trust from the first team boys.”

There is no one better placed than McGregor (with the exception of James Forrest) to dish out advice to the youth prospects at Celtic.
Having come through Celtic at all levels of his career, McGregor knows exactly what it takes to not only break into the first team but to also be a successful player and captain at the club.
McGregor is one of Celtic’s most decorated footballers. He has never lost a major final that he has appeared in and has made 460 appearances for the Hoops. If you are going to listen to anyone about making it at Celtic, it would be the captain.
