Callum Osmand has jumped straight into a pressure cooker at Celtic from Fulham.

The 19-year-old is yet to play first-team football after thriving in Fulham’s academy, but Celtic still signed Osmand from the London club this summer.

It’s a typical Celtic and Brendan Rodgers signing. Signing an unknown youngster and then providing him with the platform to thrive.

Osmand made his unofficial Celtic debut during the pre-season defeat to Estrela in Portugal over the weekend, but he has been part of the travelling squad throughout the summer.

That would have allowed the teenager to get a taste of what the Celtic fans are like, and he is loving what he is seeing.

Callum Osmand on ‘crazy’ Celtic fans

The Celtic support is large and wide, as Scotland’s most successful club is famous across world football, and now Osmand is getting a feel of it.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Osmand was asked to share his thoughts on the fans of his new club, and the words ‘passionate’ and ‘crazy’ were used to describe them.

“Passionate is the best word,” stated Osmand. “They are crazy. It’s great.

“Just seeing at Cork already, the show up in Cork was incredible, and the support is going to be massive.”

Something Osmand will realise is that Celtic have a rich Irish history, and the support from those shores has forever been strong.

After Celtic beat Cork City in a friendly last week, the home fans invaded the pitch as they wanted to greet the players up close and personal.

But as the months tick by, Osmand will realise the support Celtic take to away games, on the domestic scene, as well as in Europe.

And then, he will experience what many want to get a feel of, and that’s the Glasgow derby, the biggest and most fierce in the world.
