Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has opened up on the presence Ange Postecoglou has around the club.

The 24-year-old defender joined the Hoops on deadline day during last year’s transfer window and was one of 12 signings made by the former Socceroos boss.

After a successful loan spell at Parkhead, the American internationalist made his return permanently this summer, signing a long-term deal.

Carter-Vickers has already spent much of his career as a professional on several loan spells in the English second tier.

A move to Celtic has allowed the defender to find a new home, with Ange Postecoglou managing to get the best out of CCV and the rest of his teammates in this Hoops side.

The former Tottenham man has recently opened up on how Ange pushes the squad to get the very best out of him and described the presence he has around the dressing room.

He said [The Herald]: “I think [Ange] is a great manager. He’s really calm; he’s got a set way of playing that I think all the players enjoy. He’s also pulled the group closer together. All the boys get on really well, and that’s a good thing.

“I think the manager here always wants to improve. He’s never happy. He always thinks there is another level we can get to, and that’s what we’re trying to do as a group this season.

“He has that presence about him. He’s a calm guy, he rarely raises his voice, but he definitely has that presence. When he says things, everybody listens, and all the players trust him. We have trust in what he says, and we follow what he says.”

Celtic stars keen to push on just as much as Ange Postecoglou.

From Carter-Vicker’s latest comments about the Celtic manager, it is clear to see that everyone within the dressing room is on the same page.

Players and coaches alike are desperate to take this side to the next level and continue their impressive improvements off the back of last season.

It has been great to see this group of players grow closer together under Postecoglou, and that has all come from the manager’s presence and coaching style.

The next five weeks provide the former Socceroos boss and his players with time to work on the training ground ahead of another hectic season to come.
