Carl Starfelt has named captain Callum McGregor as the best performer in Celtic training while Scott Bain is apparently the funniest member of the squad in the dressing room.

The Swedish defender was the latest Celtic star to be part of the Teammates Q+A series on Celtic TV.

According to Starfelt, Cameron Carter-Vickers is the strongest, Tom Rogic is the most skilful and Josip Juranovic is the loudest in the dressing room.

The Bhoys player also said of the captain’s training: “He always trains very hard, I would pick him.”

As for the funniest? Surprisingly it’s rarely-used goalkeeper Bain.

Starfelt revealed: “I would say it is Scott Bain. He has very good stories and he often tells them in the dressing room. They are usually very funny so I would say him.”

It’s no surprise that McGregor is thought to be leading the way at Lennoxtown. Starfelt isn’t the first player to name the captain as the man setting the tone on a day-to-day basis – as it should be.

I’m sure Scott Brown was always a massive performer on the training ground too. It’s part of a player’s responsibility as captain to make sure a standard is reached.

This is still a group of players bonding together but you get the sense from all these Teammates videos that they’ve definitely come together this season to form relationships that they’ll always remember.

Hopefully this unity pays off in terms of delivering more silverware in the closing stages of the season. This will be the hardest part.
