The good news keeps on rolling for the Celtic supporters after their Champions League exit to Kairat Almaty.

Brendan Rodgers has been asking for the club to strengthen the Hoops first-team for months now and it seems that those transfer reinforcements are coming to Celtic this week.

However, despite dragging their heels over new additions, Celtic are certainly quick enough to allow players to leave the club when the right offer comes along.

And as the fall-out of the Champions League exit dominates the headlines, Celtic fans may have missed a transfer update on young Hoops talent, Mitchel Frame.

Celtic ‘agree a deal’ to sell Mitchel Frame to Aberdeen

Celtic have agreed to sell young Mitchel Frame to Aberdeen this summer according to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph.

Minutes after Celtic failed to beat Kairat Almaty in extra-time, Joseph took to X and said, “Aberdeen have agreed a deal to sign Celtic left-back Mitchel Frame.

“It’s understood the clubs agreed a six-figure fee with a significant sell-on clause.

“Frame, 19, has one year left on his Celtic contract.”

It is not known what the exact fee is or what the percentage value of the sell-on clause is, but Celtic fans will now get to see more of young Frame, but not in the green and white Hoops.

The Celtic appearance James McFadden labelled Mitchel Frame ‘tremendous’

Frame has only made one first-team appearance for Celtic but it was in a game that will live long in the memory of the youngster and many fans.

Celtic’s 2-1 win over Feyenoord in the Champions League back in 2023 ended a bleak winless run in the competition.

And speaking after the match, James McFadden said of young Frame, “Tremendous. He would have been absolutely buzzing just to be here, be in the dressing room, be in the warm up, getting an ovation from the crowd. When you’re a young player you’re out there warming up hoping the manager shouts you.

“Never in his wildest dreams would he have thought he would get on and make an impact in the game. When that shout comes, my word. He comes on, straight away – a lovely little flick inside, drive up the left-hand side, great ball in which Feyenoord have to defend for a corner.

“He’s positive again, and wins a brilliant challenge in the middle of the park. He goes up one vs one against a Dutch international in Lutsharel Geertruida, he loses it. But he goes again, drives him inside, drops his shoulder and wins the corner that Celtic eventually score their goal for. It’s a tremendous night for him.”
