One of the major positives coming out of the mid-week clash with Feyenoord was the impact of Mitchel Frame coming off the bench.
The 17-year-old made his debut for the Bhoys in the 2-1 victory, having previously been named in UEFA Champions League matchday squads this season.
He was a fearless entrant into the match, replacing Luis Palma, and it was his drive and intent which helped Celtic pin Feyenoord back to create an opening for a winner late in the match.
Not only did he impress Celtic supporters but the Scotland youth international left James McFadden waxing lyrical live on radio, too.
Celtic talent Mitchel Frame gets glowing review on national radio
The way Frame attacked the match was noted by all on the BBC Sportsound panel, with the teenager also drawing praise from host Kenny Macintyre and journalist Tom English.
McFadden went most in-depth on what he enjoyed though, telling listeners: “Tremendous. He would have been absolutely buzzing just to be here, be in the dressing room, be in the warm up, getting an ovation from the crowd. When you’re a young player you’re out there warming up hoping the manager shouts you.
“Never in his wildest dreams would he have thought he would get on and make an impact in the game. When that shout comes, my word. He comes on, straight away – a lovely little flick inside, drive up the left-hand side, great ball in which Feyenoord have to defend for a corner.
“He’s positive again, and wins a brilliant challenge in the middle of the park. He goes up one vs one against a Dutch international in Lutsharel Geertruida, he loses it. But he goes again, drives him inside, drops his shoulder and wins the corner that Celtic eventually score their goal for. It’s a tremendous night for him.”

Manager Brendan Rodgers also praised Frame for his efforts after the game but admitted he has a “long, long way to go” to be a regular for the Bhoys.
Encouragingly it appears he will get that chance at Celtic with his most recent contract signed in September despite English Premier League interest, until the summer of 2026.
It’s unclear in what position Frame will be developed. He can operate as an attacking left-sided player but has also played a lot at left-back.
Every fan is looking forward to seeing more of him as the season develops, and beyond.
In other news, £4m Celtic deal now ‘likely’ and it could hasten exit of fringe player.
