The Celtic pre-season schedule got properly underway on Wednesday as the team faced Yokohama F. Marinos.

The match at the Nissan Stadium was an enjoyable one even if Brendan Rodgers‘ side lost 6-4.

After a couple of low-profile matches in Portugal it was particularly nice to see the team back in action.

The game was shown live to subscribers on Celtic TV, and the coverage was pretty strong with clear footage and club commentary.

Celtic had been keen to promote the Celtic TV coverage in Japan, with Saturday’s match against Gamba Osaka also on the channel.

But the situation regarding our two other pre-season matches wasn’t previously known. That was until a Celtic tweet seemed to suggest that there would be coverage of those games as well.

“Our first of four pre-season games is LIVE for all subscribers this morning,” they said in a tweet.

A look on the Celtic TV homepage does indeed confirm that the games against Wolves and Athletic Club will be broadcast live.

The Wolves fixture in Dublin will follow the same pattern as our Japanese clashes. Video of the 2pm kick-off on Saturday 29 July will be shown live worldwide to subscribers.

The game against Athletic Club for James Forrest’s testimonial is different in that live video will only be available outside of the UK and Ireland. That is the usual arrangement for Celtic Park league matches.

So, regardless of your location, you should be able to watch Celtic’s final three fixtures of pre-season, either in person or online.

After that we’re in to the real stuff with Ross County visiting for Flag Day on Saturday 5 August.
