After Celtic’s pre-season tour of Japan was publicised this morning, the club have now announced that it plans to include South Korea as part of the July summer tour.

Celtic announced on Twitter with a brilliant video starring South Korean striker Hyeongyu Oh visiting the manager’s office to state a case for visiting his homeland.

Oh has previously said he would love to represent Celtic back in Korea and just last month, backed a tour of his country, “I could never have imagined I would have the chance to go South Korea with Celtic. If it were to happen, it would be a new experience to me and I would be very proud to show them my country.

“I think they would enjoy it. The fan culture is similar to Scotland. Fans are very enthusiastic and passionate. In both countries, the supporters make you feel appreciated and I appreciate that in turn.”

His wish is Celtic’s command. The club are set to announce details of the South Korean leg of the tour in the coming days.

Celtic are really starting to garner some excellent exposure in the Far East.

Back in March, SPOTV announced that it would be broadcasting Celtic’s last remaining five SPFL fixtures to Japan, Korea and the Asian region.

This coupled with the tour of Japan and South Korea should help open up a huge marketing opportunity for the club.

As Celtic continue to financially outmuscle our rivals, these two announcements will surely demoralise our opponents who are still coming to terms with ending the season trophyless.
