Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou delivers superb 4-player injury update

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has delivered a fantastic injury update for the supporters as he named 4 players he expects to return next month.

Postecoglou’s Hoops have been majorly depleted over the month of December. A host of key first-team talents have been sidelined with knocks whilst other squad members have also missed out.

This has led to the manager struggling to rotate. It effectively caught up with the Bhoys too after a nasty 0-0 slip at St Mirren in our final fixture before Christmas.

However, thankfully, a flurry of attacking players look set to return for the game against Hibernian on January 17th.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Postecoglou said: “Some of them [will be back. Giorgos Giakoumakis, Jullien, Hopefully Jota. There are a whole host I could go through.

“But I’m pretty hopeful that the majority, by the time the resumption comes, will be there or thereabouts, which will be great for us. James Forrest is one of those as well.”

Celtic set to feel major positive of the winter break

This is the reason so many Celtic fans were urging the club to keep their winning run going until the end of the year. It was why results were much more important than performances. We knew a massive boost in the way of injury returns were on the horizon.

Celtic are going to look a lot different when they return for the second half of the campaign. The shadow squad that Postecoglou has been working with is going to be bolstered massively. That’s not even taking into account potential new signings either.

The Hoops will hope to have the majority of their work complete before they face Hibs on January 17th. Taking all of that into consideration, it looks set to be a huge month for the club.

The club’s biggest problem over the course of the last month has been their lack of a spark in the final third. They’ve been far too reliant on the performances of Kyogo in December. This has effectively been due to the number of attacking talents out injured.

With James Forrest, Giorgos Giakoumakis, and Jota all tipped for January returns, the Celtic frontline is going to look a lot stronger come the return. It also means that all players will likely be fully up to speed for the February 2nd Glasgow Derby vs Rangers, provided there are no further setbacks.

It’s huge news for the club and the supporters. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly in the final stages of the recovery process for all of these players. We need as many bodies back as we can muster.
