Ange Postecoglou is aiming to go ‘deep’ in the UEFA Europa Conference League, speaking ahead of Thursday nights’ big match against Bodo/Glimt.
The Norwegian champions arrive in the knockout play-off round for the chance to move into the last 16 of the competition.
However, Ange has ambitions beyond this round. And the next. And the one after that.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, he said this weekend: “I want to go deep into every competition. I’ve never entered anything without thinking about trying to be successful in it.
“I took Australia to a World Cup and thought I could win it. I know people will say I’m being ridiculous but that’s just the way I’m made up.
“You go into something and do your utmost to be successful so that’s what we’ll do in Europe. We’re in it and we want success in it.
“That’s what we’ll try to do. I’m not discounting this competition. I want us to perform well in it and win because it adds to the prestige and story of this football club.”
Clearly, the manager has no concerns about balancing Europe with league action, despite a tight title race. Celtic will be going all-out on Thursday. As they should.
For all the talk about Celtic supporters not being invested in this tournament, ticket sales for the encounter have been strong and tens of thousands will be under the lights at Paradise.
They’ll be expecting maximum effort and a real show. Postecoglou is intent on delivering.
