The perfect Sunday for Celtic is complete after all three of the club’s prominent squads won matches.
First up this afternoon it was Fran Alonso’s Celtic FC Women. They had a mammoth Scottish Cup clash against Rangers to contend with at the Penny Cars stadium in Airdrie.
Shown live on the Pass To Paradise and TikTok, of all places, Celtic managed to pick up a huge 2-1 against the league leaders, keeping alive hopes of a famous cup double this season.
Clarissa Larisey and Chloe Craig were the players who powered the team into the quarter-finals, scoring in each half, with Alonso a very happy man after the match.
Then, as you know, Celtic managed to surge to a 4-0 victory at home to Raith Rovers, which we’ve covered elsewhere. With Jota shining, Giorgos Giakoumakis on the scoresheet and Christopher Jullien returning, there were plenty of positives.
Rounding off the day’s action, the B team were also in action at the Penny Cars Stadium, hosting Vale of Leithen in the Scottish Lowland Football League.
Ben Summers was the hero of the day, netting a superb hat-trick to complement Joey Dawson’s opener and secure a 4-0 win.
The first-team, women’s team and B team are often split across different days on a weekend. However, today was a proper day of Celtic excellence.
Congratulations to the players and coaches of all the teams as we head into the tail-end of the season. There are even bigger days to come!
