Ange Postecoglou’s team talk to his Celtic players on Sunday could be one for the ages.

By now we know that Celtic’s manager specialises in the motivational talk. He’s used it to his advantage throughout his managerial career.

He did it in his time as Socceroos boss, as has been shown in a number of clips including this belter from Optus Sport.

That trend has continued at Celtic. The club even released some Ange footage in their recent end of season DVD.

A short scene in ‘We. Never. Stop.’ shows Postecoglou addressing his team in the lead-up to our last League Cup final, against Hibernian.

As Ange paces around the room, he urges his players not to play the occasion, and to walk out feeling “ten feet tall.”

Postecoglou: “You know why? Because you’re wearing a shirt and you’re representing a club that’s achieved the greatest of achievements and you stand on the shoulders of the players who have achieved all of that before you.

“So you walk out there feeling invincible – ten feet tall – and at the end of the game, when Cal lifts up the trophy, and you walk back in here, you’re going to be a little bit taller.

“You’ll be standing on what you created, on what you did, and you’ll have added to this football club.”

Last season’s final was a huge game, but this one feels even bigger given the opposition.

Postecoglou has been on fire this week in the media, as we’ve been covering, so it is fair to assume that he’ll have something special lined up for pre-match on Sunday.

If things go well, we may even get a peak at it on this year’s end of season DVD. Whilst celebrating a treble obviously.

In other news, Celtic have been mentioned on the official AFL website as the Ange effect is felt in other sports
