Celtic boss Ange provides Tuesday injury update on Turnbull, Kyogo, Forrest and others
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been discussing the fitness status of David Turnbull, Kyogo Furuhashi and others at the club today.
David Turnbull limped out of the match on Sunday and was visibly upset on the touchline that the chance to shine in a cup final was taken away from him.
Kyogo meanwhile started the match despite not being 100% fit, getting through 83 minutes on the pitch through sheer will.
Kyogo unlikely to feature for Celtic tomorrow, Turnbull definitely won’t
Turnbull definitely won’t feature against St Mirren tomorrow, if the match goes ahead. Postecoglou also hinted that Kyogo could well sit the occasion out.
Speaking in his press conference [Celtic YouTube], the Bhoys boss said: “David Turnbull’s one was the most significant coming out of the game. He’s had a scan but we don’t have the results yet so I’m not really sure of the length of time. But he definitely misses out [vs St Mirren].
“Everyone else, we’ve got a few knocks and niggles from the game but I think everyone will be okay.
“Kyogo, we’ll have to manage through this period because he’s not 100%. It’s unlikely he’ll play every game between now and the break.
“The guys in rehab, trying to come back, there’s no-one who is going to be available for tomorrow night.”
Meanwhile, Postecoglou also confirmed James Forrest won’t feature either after training as recently as Saturday.
That all means it could be another makeshift frontline in Paisley. However, given the state of the St Mirren squad right now we can’t really have any complaints. Three points is a must if the fixture gets the green light.
