There was something special added to Celtic’s win over Aberdeen this week at Celtic Park.
Aside from the Bhoys smashing five goals past Jimmy Thelin’s team, two Celtic heroes reached their own personal milestones in last night’s win.
Hoops captain Callum McGregor and Alistair Johnston both made Celtic’s starting XI for the clash against Aberdeen and, in doing s,o made an achievement that not many players do in this day and age of football.
Alistair Johnstone hits his 100th Celtic appearance vs Aberdeen
Alistair Johnston has been at Celtic since January 2022 and has already won two league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
The Canadian has also represented Celtic in the highest echelons of European football, taking on the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid and not looking out of place.
However, last night against Aberdeen, Johnston made his 100th appearance for Celtic and was one of the best players on the park.
Johnston has shown real maturity and leadership in his time at Celtic, and some fans are tipping the Canadian as a future captain of the club.
Congratulations to Johnston, and here’s hoping he features at least 100 times more appearances in the green and white Hoops.
