Celtic destroyed Aberdeen in a big 5-1 Parkhead win.

A double from Daizen Maeda was complimented by another goal from Celtic captain Callum McGregor, Jota and a strike from second-half substitute Hyunjun Yang as the Bhoys battered Aberdeen.

Brendan Rodgers was delighted with Celtic hero Daizen Maeda as the Hoops boss praised the Japanese forward for netting his 25th goal of the season.

But one player who didn’t look happy at full-time was Republic of Ireland forward, Adam Idah, as he dropped to the bench in Rodgers’ Celtic starting XI to face the Pittodrie club.

Sky Sports cameras catch Adam Idah looking unhappy after Celtic beat Aberdeen

Idah was brought on as a second-half substitute and despite getting a full half-hour, the big striker only managed to muster a single shot on goal.

So it’s little wonder that when the Sky Sports cameras panned past Idah, he was looking really unhappy as the rest of his Celtic teammates celebrated the win.

What Adam Idah said about Kyogo leaving Celtic could explain the striker’s full-time Aberdeen reaction

Idah had to suffer being Celtic’s second-choice striker whilst Kyogo Furuhashi was at the club so when the Japanese striker moved to Rennes, the 23-year-old was confident he would become the main man at Parkhead.

Idah said of Kyogo leaving Celtic, “Nice for me that potentially I’ve got a lot more game time in my hands, but at the end of the day it’s not my decision whether the club signs a striker or not.

“We’ve got a really strong squad. We’ve got plenty of young strikers in the squad that could, that can do a job.

“You see Johnny back in Ireland when he was on loan, he was flying. We’ve got plenty of options in the squad and I’m sure we’ve strengthened the squad with Jota coming back and Jeff coming in I’m sure we’ve still got a great squad.”

With Daizen Maeda now the main man at Celtic, it’s not hard to understand why Idah looks frustrated and unhappy at still being the backup striker for Brendan Rodgers right now.
