Celtic are no strangers to receiving fines from UEFA.

The Glasgow giants were subject to UEFA punishment after Celtic fans let off pyro in the Champions League defeat to Borussia Dortmund on matchday two.

The European governing body hit Celtic with a €20,000 fine and a suspended one-match ban from selling tickets to the Hoops’ next European away match should the offence be repeated within the next two years.

Well, it seems now that after what happened in Celtic’s defeat to Aston Villa last night, the Parkhead club could feel the wrath of UEFA after what happened when Adam Idah struck against the Premier League club.

Celtic fans use of pyro vs Aston Villa could be hammered by UEFA

After Celtic striker Adam Idah scored against Aston Villa, the travelling support let off pyro and threw the green smoke bomb onto the Villa Park pitch.

Stewards removed the device but it is likely that the club are certain to be punished further by UEFA after breaking the terms of the suspended fan ban sentence.

With the Hoops looking forward to a huge knockout playoff place against either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid, this act of stupidity could mean Brendan Rodgers takes his team to one of the toughest European arenas without any Celtic supporters in attendance.

Four clubs already severely punished by UEFA will have Celtic sweating

UEFA have already punished four of their member clubs in 2025 and we are not even into February yet.

Four teams have been punished with either a partial stadium closure or an away fan ban. Listed below are the clubs, the punishment and why action was taken according to UEFA’s website.
