Wilfried Nancy could reunite with one of the stars from his Columbus Crew side at Celtic in January.

Diego Rossi is being tipped to join the Hoops after he reportedly expressed a desire to work with Nancy again.

It would cost Celtic in the region of £10m to sign Rossi, who has been a prolific goalscorer since returning to the MLS after a brief spell in Turkey with Fenerbahce.

The 27-year-old still has plenty of life in the tank, but do Celtic fans want to see him in the green and white?

Is Diego Rossi the upgrade we need in January?

Celtic fans desperate to sign Diego Rossi

In the past, Celtic have had success with bringing players in from the MLS – most recently Alistair Johnston – and there would be hopes that Rossi could follow in those footsteps.

On paper, everything suggests that he would be the perfect fit, and Celtic fans want to see the Uruguayan sign for the Bhoys.

@ciarang_88 commented: “Diego Rossi would be some signing.”

@p____67 added: “Is Diego Rossi a winger or a striker? If he is a winger he HAS to be a different type to Balikwisha & Tounekti, and more like Abada or Jota.”

@DaleBhoy said: “Announce Diego Rossi on the 1st.”

Would you rather have wing-backs or a striker join the club in January?

Celtic may not need to spend £10m on Diego Rossi

Columbus will understandably want to keep their best players, but they face one major disadvantage.

Unless things change, Rossi’s contract expires in December 2026, meaning he will be allowed to talk to clubs when there is six months left.

Knowing they could do that for free, the Bhoys choose to hold off from paying the asking price.

A lower fee may be enough to twist the MLS side’s arm, but it seems like a no-brainer for Celtic to go in for him.
