Some in the Celtic support were quick to notice a brilliant aspect of the Hoops’ training ground images from yesterday.
The club published several photos on Twitter of the first-team squad training ahead of their Champions League qualifier against Ferencvaros at Celtic Park this evening.
Yet there was one image that stood out more than the others. As the rest of the squad appeared to be wearing rainproof training gear amid the lashing downpour, Scott Brown and Patryk Klimala bucked the trend.
Broony has always been one to wear short-sleeved shirts and shorts during torrential weather, but fans were certainly taken aback by Klimala’s willingness to follow in his captain’s footsteps. Here’s a look at some of the reaction below:

Another indication of Klimala’s desire to adapt
Yes, you can look at this image and have a chuckle. There’s an element of humour to it of course, but there’s a bigger point to be made here.
Klimala has spoken over the summer about how hard he’s been working through lockdown to acclimatise to life in Britain (The Herald). This is another example of him looking to do just that.
The Celtic striker is clearly looking to get used to the harsh weather we can have in Scotland, and it’s not bad practice ahead of the winter period either. When Celtic play through the winter months, it’s not as if players are allowed to play in nice rain-proof tracksuits. So why bother with them in training?
You have to credit Klimala here. This clearly isn’t just for show. It’s him looking to do all he can to adapt to life and football in Scotland.
So far, he’s impressed this season as his hard work looks like paying off. The striker has netted against Nice, Hibernian (x2) and Hamilton – his goal against Accies being his only one in competitive action.
In addition to that, he’s done some solid grafting in substitute appearances against Kilmarnock, KR Reykjavik, and Dundee United respectively. Here’s hoping there’s more to come tonight against Ferencvaros.
