It might feel frivolous in a time of so much upheaval, but Celtic need kits to play in, and Euro 2020 is providing inspiration.
Back in the good old days, you’d get a new kit every few years, home and away. Occasionally a third, but everything was in black and white so you couldn’t tell.
While the Away kit has already been launched, the home and (inevitable) third kits haven’t been announced by Adidas or Celtic as of yet. And as eyes turned to Turkey against Wales in Euro 2020 today, Celtic supporters had some very similar thoughts.
While yes, there’s always room for a bumblebee kit, the fact that we have a new Greek-Australian manager coming in only enhanced the clamour. Because today, Wales look like the Socceroos in a smart yellow and green Adidas effort. It also also calls to mind our famous away win against Boavista.
Do Adidas have time to potentially scatter their plans for our third kit and remake an almost exact copy of Wales’? Probably not, but there’ll be supporters queuing up to buy it if the famous German brand consider changing their mind before the season starts.
