Celtic winger Marian Shved is again on the radar of supporters after his winning goal on loan at KV Mechelen last night.
Shved’s problems at Celtic and the Belgian side have been well documented.
He failed to settle at Lennoxtown under Neil Lennon before heading off to the continent on loan for the season.

Mechelen haven’t exactly been left buzzing with his progress either.
His manager and an unnamed player slaughtered him in the Belgian press earlier this month.
However, clear the air talks led to his training return and he’s featured off the bench in their last two matches.

His finish on Sunday, to give Mechelen a 2-1 league win, was excellent and it has sparked a bit of excitement and interest within the online Celtic support.
We need to get this lad settled when he comes back and get him firing! Be criminal to just wash our hands of him🤷🏼♂️
But we don’t know what he’s like behind the scenes I suppose🍀— Dom CFC67🍀9️⃣🏆🍀 (@Shiv1888) December 28, 2020

The boy obviously has talent but just doesn’t apply himself in training… Shved should be on the back of every kids top right now pushing us for the 10 – it tells you it all that he isn’t 🥃 ☘️

When we are missing Forrest and width in the team Shved could have been an ideal asset to the team…. it’s a shame he couldn’t settle and struggled with the language….

Give him a chance he is exactly what we need on the right.

He always looks a great talent just wish to god he’d realise his attitude needs to change or going to be such a waste.

Shved has always had backing from a section of Celtic supporters, and if he can continue to score goals in Belgium, that will likely continue.
However, he still has a lot to prove to make it at Mechelen, nevermind the Bhoys.
Celtic return unlikely
The Belgian club hold an option to buy the Ukrainian should they want to. Given how things have progressed so far, that’s unlikely.
A return to the Celtic fold is just as remote given his lack of progress last season.
Even if his loan expires and he makes his way back to Glasgow, it would be shocking to see him turn out regularly for the first-team.

The only way that would happen is if he hits a hot streak in the second half of the Belgian season and he has a burning desire to complete unfinished business at Celtic Park.
Still, it’s worth keeping an eye on how he does abroad in 2021, especially if he’s scoring goals like the one over the weekend.
