Celtic fans decide ideal striker for run-in after key question posed

As the business end of the season approaches, Celtic and Martin O’Neill now realise they have no room for error in this three-way Premiership title battle.

Celtic were beaten by Dundee United last time out, and it left the Hoops in third spot, as the club’s season-long goalscoring woes continued.

The issue O’Neill has is that, not only does he have a genuine selection headache, but it’s a case of which strikers he can trust for the final few weeks because nobody is taking the mantle.

That’s why 67 Hail Hail turned to our TalkingPoints users to find out which striker you think Celtic should start for the final run-in, if you only had one to pick.

It’s fair to say that Kelechi Iheanacho, Tomas Cvancara, Daizen Maeda and Junior Adamu didn’t come out of this in a good light.

Celtic fans are divided over who should be the main striker for the run-in

One thing is for sure: nobody can argue because Iheanacho started against Dundee United and has looked undercooked all season.

Cvancara has been meh since signing in January, and you have to question if his loan move from Borussia Monchengladbach will become permanent in the summer, while Adamu has looked lost and can’t even make the matchday squads at times.

Then you have Maeda, who has fallen off a cliff this term, but it seems some of our TalkingPoints users are pushing towards him starting, probably because of his past record.

Only last season, the Japan star was Scotland’s PFA Player of the Year, scoring 33 goals in all competitions.

But it’s fair to say, the choices for our TalkingPoints users are few and far between, and if some could pick none at all, as positive as they are trying to be, they would.
