Celtic supporters face a nervy wait for UEFA to announce whether or not fans will be banned from their glamour away tie vs Bayern Munich in February.
The Hoops were drawn against Bayern Munich on Friday morning in the Champions League knockout play-off round.
Celtic will face the German giants at Parkhead in the first leg before the return fixture at the Allianz Arena a week later on February 18.
But UEFA could ban Celtic fans from entering the stadium in what would be a huge blow to Brendan Rodgers, his squad and the club as a whole.
That’s because the European governing body handed the Hoops a disciplinary notice after a smoke bomb disrupted the defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
After losing to Borussia Dortmund in September, UEFA gave Celtic a fine and a suspended away fan ban that would potentially come into force if more rules were broken within a two-year period.
Celtic now await UEFA’s decision with manager Brendan Rodgers hoping the club are not sanctioned, while also branding the behaviour ‘not acceptable’.

Celtic fans react to possible UEFA fan ban
Celtic supporters have taken to social media platform X to give their honest thoughts on the news fans could be banned from the away Bayern Munich leg.
One fan asked: “We can’t possibly be the only club that does this? What about every other clubs fans?”
Another supporter said: “Easy solution, identify those using pyro and ban them…”
This Celtic fan wrote: “Think they are above the club as always and ruin it for the majority.”
While this punter posted: “Plenty of fans around that stadium that just enjoyed the game. A very small minority decided to celebrate the 2nd Celtic goal and brought attention to themselves. Pity as it was a great game and fantastic atmosphere”.
And this fan said: “Regardless of what fans think of the rules, they are the rules and the action of the few are causing our reputation to be damaged and ultimately affect the ability for fans to follow the club in Europe and drive the team on. The ones who broke the rules must be banned.”
Brendan Rodgers has sympathy for ‘genuine supporters’
As mentioned, Celtic manager Rodgers condemned the misconduct seen at Villa Park and told reporters on Friday that things must change.
He also addressed the ‘genuine’ Celtic supporters who will ultimately be impacted by the action of one individual if UEFA indeed bans fans from the Allianz Arena.
The Northern Irishman said: “For those Celtic supporters that are genuinely bonded with their club and their team and that traveled near and far over many, many years – to even be at the risk of not going tells you the culmination of events that have taken us to that point.
“So I really hope that it’s not the case for, like I say, the genuine supporter who loves the club and supports the club and have gone to games all over the world – but let’s see what comes from it.
