With the second Brendan Rodgers era well underway at Lennoxtown, players returning to the training centre and the hard work started, Celtic are beginning to provide fans with day-to-day pre-season updates.
The club published a series of pictures of training this afternoon after yesterday’s arrival day, with familiar faces such as Matt O’Riley, Tomoki Iwata and Yuki Kobayashi meeting the manager.
A by-product of that is fans also getting a glimpse of Adidas’ 2023/24 Celtic training range, with previous editions in seasons gone by proving to be big sellers with supporters.
Rodgers and the coaching staff could be seen wearing a nice-looking black and grey jacket, with yellow detailing. The players, meanwhile, had on light grey tops with dark green sleeves and luminous badges and branding. A full set of photos are available on the club’s Twitter feed.
The range has not yet officially been unveiled, which will come later in the summer. Currently, the official store pages online show the 2022/23 gear.
Celtic have already released a bold new home kit to mixed reviews and a black away kit which, in fairness, has been far better received by supporters.
A third kit will also be released later in the year and is thought to have a modern camouflage-style design. There are also indications a special edition home kit will be released with a classic hoops design and a whited-out badge.
So, while the official 2023/24 home top may not exactly be popular, there will be plenty of more stylish merchandise for supporters to get their hands on. From the initial reviews online, it seems the training gear will again find plenty of admirers.
Ultimately, strong sales can only be a benefit to the club, so it’s always nice to see these things received well.
In other news, Celtic hit out at South Korea tour promoters and confirm final plans for Asia.
