Celtic will not be playing any football in South Korea this summer, the club have confirmed.
Brendan Rodgers‘ side were due to face Premier League opposition in the shape of Wolves in Suwon later this month.
But the Molineux side were forced to withdraw due to tour promoter Stadium X/Untouchable Sport Group not meeting obligations.
Italian giants AS Roma also won’t be taking part in matches and now Celtic have become the final foreign team to withdraw, as they criticised the promoters.
The club posted a statement on Tuesday afternoon which read: “It is with deep regret that Celtic Football Club has been forced to withdraw from our match in South Korea.
“The Hoops were originally due to play English Premier League side, Wolves, later this month, but numerous financial and logistical operations were not met by the tour promoter, and after weeks of delays, the Club has taken the difficult decision to terminate the contract and pull out of the tour.

“The Club and the players were excited about visiting South Korea and giving our fans the opportunity to see the team, but unfortunately, due to factors entirely outwith our control, we have been left with no other option than to withdraw from the match.”
There had been some suggestions that Celtic may look to play local side Incheon United in South Korea. However, the statement makes it very clear that there will be no third match.
Luckily for Japan based Celtic supporters, we still have two matches scheduled there.
As the club said in the statement, the side will face Yokohama F. Marinos on July 19 and Gamba Osaka on July 22.
They will then return to Lennoxtown to “continue their pre-season preparations.”

Celtic will head to Portugal first this pre-season, where we’re expected to face top-flight side Portimonense in two matches.
After that, the team has the games in Japan as well as Athletic Club’s visit to Glasgow for James Forrest’s testimonial.
There is still time for some other games to be announced too.
