Daizen Maeda had a tremendous season for Celtic.
Adding a league and cup double to his ever-growing repertoire of silverware, Maeda won Celtic’s Player of the Year as his goals helped the Parkhead club remain the dominant force in Scotland.
The Japan international was in great form both domestically and in the Champions League as Maeda took over the Celtic goalscoring reins from Kyogo Furuhashi who left the Hoops in January.
However, Celtic posted on social media about their star man and it caused the fans to get excited and send a big Maeda message to the club.

Fenerbahçe reportedly want the Celtic talisman after Maeda’s goalscoring exploits this season.
And after the club posted this on X:
The Celtic supporters caused the post on X to go viral as they sent the club a huge message about Maeda and his contract situation.

Maeda is contracted to Celtic until the end of the 2026/27 season but fans are desperate for him to extend his stay.
And after the post on X, the message to Celtic is loud and clear:
@pauloshea92 replied with, “Less speculation. Just tell us if he is staying would you.” whilst one fan wasn’t that impressed as @CelticNoah chipped in, “What a horrible, random, useless post that had absolutely no purpose other than to give us all false hope. Hope you’re proud Celtic.”
@MaedaMealOfThat got very excited and replied, “DOES THIS MEAN HES SIGNED A LIFETIME CONTRACT?” as @luispalma10_ (not the real one) said, “Surely this can only mean one thing?”
It’s clear that every Celtic fan wants to see Maeda extend his stay at the club and if the announcement isn’t made soon, there are going to be a lot of unhappy Hoops supporters after this teaser.
