Celtic fans have just one thing to say to the SPFL post-split fixture release

Celtic have learned the dates of when they will face the other five sides in the top half of the Scottish Premiership table following the post-split fixture announcement.

With a 55th Scottish Premiership title just around the corner for Brendan Rodgers’ Bhoys, they now know when they will play Rangers, Hibernian, Dundee United, Aberdeen and St Mirren.

After the SPFL confirmed when Celtic will play these post-split games, fans have reacted to the dates and times of these games.

Celtic fans want to win the league against Rangers.

As the news came in, Celtic fans were less than happy to see that they will kick off the split with an away trip to Dundee United on 26 April.

Playing in the 12:30PM slot, Celtic can win the league that day but if with Rangers 15 points off and five games left, there is a chance to seal the title at Ibrox on Sunday 4 May if things don’t go to plan in Dundee.

Reacting to the list, most Hoops fans were willing to sacrifice a defeat in the first game in order to get one over their city rivals.

@methvesoutlook1 wrote: “Why they wouldn’t schedule the Old Firm as a title decider is mental. Scottish football is a product and we seem determined not to sell it.”

What is the Scottish Premiership split?

The 12-team league in the top flight of Scottish football is split into two groups of six after 33 match days.

Those in the top six will compete for the European spots whereas the bottom six aim to avoid the automatic relegation spot, as well as a relegation play-off spot where they take on the winner of the Scottish Championship play-off format.

Once teams are split, those seventh and below can no longer finish above the sides in sixth – even if they accumulate more points.
