Celtic fans praise Greg Taylor's performance against Sarajevo

Celtic’s Greg Taylor had an interesting game against Sarajevo on Thursday in the Europa League play-off. The left-back constantly worked hard for the Hoops on the left-wing, but his final ball wasn’t always the best.

However, he came into the game far more in the second-half, and was probably one of Celtic’s best performers on the night in the 1-0 win.

Taylor is currently playing for the Hoops in the knowledge that the team will be looking to sign another left-back before the transfer window slams shut. However, that hasn’t stopped Neil Lennon from putting his faith in the left-back, as he has featured for the Hoops 11 times this season.

Easy to see why manager rates player

You can see why Neil Lennon is a fan of the player. He works very hard, and always keeps going for 90 minutes. That might seem like obvious things that a footballer would do. However, it is the kind of thing that a manager appreciates. That makes him a kind of unsung hero. He doesn’t get the glory some other players do.

A new dawn beckons for Celtic in Europe, as Joe Hart shows his class once again

Even if Celtic do sign a left-back before the end of the transfer window, there is no guarantee that they will beat Taylor to a first-team spot.

At the moment, the left-back position is Taylor’s to lose. The new signing, whoever it may be, will have to work very hard to get a place in the starting line-up.

Remember, if the Hoops has lost the team would have been out of Europe completely, which would have been a catastrophe. Thanks to the likes of Taylor, that was never really in danger of happening.

It seems that some Celtic fans on social media also appreciated Taylor’s performance in what was a huge game for Celtic.

Man of the match worthy performance

One fan described his performance as being man of the match worthy. Another felt that he worked hard all night and called for the ‘critics’ to get off the player’s back.

It remains to be seen if that will happen. Still, it was a good performance from Taylor, and it was good to see some fans support him.
