Celtic fans say ‘get him in’ as Kasper Hogh talks continue

Celtic fans have been reacting to the news that Kasper Hogh is in talks to join from Bodo/Glimt.

Over two months on from the end of last season, the club have made just one addition to Martin O’Neill’s squad, in the shape of Camilo Duran.

Dozens others have been linked, including Hogh, whom the club also pursued in the January window.

Celtic fans on Kasper Hogh: ‘We should’ve had him last year’

One fan would see his addition as a welcome show ambition from the board, saying: “It would at least show that the board are trying to do the right thing, something we haven’t seen in years.”

But another has no optimism that they will, saying: “We will lose him for the sake of 50 grand, no doubt.

Another user thinks that the Dane’s arrival would be long overdue, writing: “We should have had him last year lol.”

The general consensus is that Hogh’s arrival would be well-received by the support, given his Champions League pedigree.

One fan said: “Brilliant signing, hope it happens,” whilst another agreed: “He’s a Martin O’Neill type, get him in.”

However, some are wary that the club are behind on their to-do list, with one user writing: “I will be happy about that, but still need a left back and a keeper.”

A fan replied saying that the Hoops need even more: “And the rest!!! We need at least 5 new players, because we are not anywhere near a good side.”

Finally, as ever, not everyone is convinced. One cynic isn’t having Hogh, saying: “I would leave him and get a better striker for less.”

Hogh finished as the second-top goalscorer in last season’s Eliteserien, also racking up seven Europa League goals as Bodos made the semi-final.

This season, he managed five in the Champions League proper, netting against Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and hitting a brace against Manchester City.
