As Celtic made it two wins out of two with an impressive away win at Hibs yesterday, fans sent a clear transfer message to the Parkhead board.
Goals from Nicolas Kuhn and Callum McGregor sealed a vital three points at this early stage of the season at a venue Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers, has traditionally found it tricky to negotiate.
Celtic asserted their dominance early on in the game and although they didn’t add to their first-half two-goal advantage, the team had a fairly comfortable afternoon in the capital.
However, despite the win, Celtic fans are clearly not happy at the club’s lack of transfer signings as they sent the club a message on social media after the full-time whistle sounded.
Celtic fans want more new faces despite early-season dominance
Celtic have less than three weeks to add more new faces to the squad and as the club told the fans to enjoy their weekend after the Hibs win, many replied with a simple message:
Another fan wants to know what the team finished with a makeshift centre-forward, “I’ll enjoy it a lot more when you can come out and explain to us why we finished the game with a centre midfielder playing up front.
“Back the manager. Get him the players were desperately crying out for. It shouldn’t be this difficult.“
Whilst another told the club there are two positions requiring immediate attention, “Enjoy it a lot more if we had a backup striker and a competent defensive partnership to the left of CCV on the books.“
This Celtic fan sent the club a warning about Brendan Rodgers:
And another urged the club to spend the millions of pounds nestling in the club’s bank account:
There is only one player on this Celtic fan’s mind, “Idah announced tomorrow please.”
Celtic’s transfer frustration
I can understand the fans’ frustration. After a full summer and having just signed three players whilst moving other fringe players on, it can be argued that the squad is weaker now than how it finished last season.

However, Brendan Rodgers has always said he wants quality over quantity and will not want to be in the same position where he was last summer where he had basically written off almost all of Celtic’s new additions.
I agree that more quality is needed to help kick the squad on and getting those types of players does take time. The Celtic fans will be hoping that the club are well down the road with adding those players because as we all know, that time is quickly running out.
