Celtic beat Dundee United 5-0 at Tannadice on Saturday on their way to another Scottish Premiership title triumph.

Coming into the clash with Dundee United, Celtic only needed a single point to get over the line.

They didn’t settle for just a point, though, Brendan Rodgers’ side putting on another five-star showing to dismantle their opponents with ease.

And following the victory that confirmed their status as champions for the 2024/25 season, Celtic fans were quick to send a message to the biggest rivals ahead of a mouthwatering prospect in the next campaign.

Celtic fans warn Rangers after Bhoys equal record for most top-flight titles

Their triumph this campaign was Celtic’s 55th title-winning season.

As such, it moved them on par with Rangers as the two sides that have won the most Scottish league titles.

It means Celtic have the chance to overtake Rangers’ record next season, a point Hoops fans on social media were quick to point out.

One fan wrote: ‘Here we go… 56 next season.’

On drawing level with Rangers’ record, another simply added: ‘We ruin everything for [Rangers].’

Other fans echoed the turn towards next season already, with one writing: ‘Let’s go again next season.’

Another said: ‘Next year is the race for 56.’

Some fans were keen to savour the moment, however, with one writing: ‘Great job from everyone. Well deserved. A dominant title win.’

Another wrote: ‘Congratulations to Brendan Rodgers and Celtic Football Club for winning the Scottish Championship for the 55th time.’

How Celtic have closed the gap to Rangers

For a long time, Rangers’ record of 55 titles looked unassailable.

However, 14 triumphs in the last 15 years means Celtic have closed the gap in remarkable fashion.

Such has been their dominance of the Scottish Premiership in recent years, they must go into next season as favourites to claim the record for most top-flight titles outright.

For now, though, it is about enjoying this campaign, another year of hard work and excellent performances bearing fruit once again for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
