Celtic fans may have a bit of a dilemma with regards of who to support when Croatia take on Argentina tomorrow night.
Thankfully, Ange Postecoglou’s Hoops are nearing their competitive return. But there’s still a World Cup to be concluded over the next six days.
One player who won’t be part of the squad for Pittodrie at the weekend is Josip Juranovic, as he continues to fight for the big prize in Qatar with Croatia.
Juranovic’s side have already seen off Japan and Brazil in the knockouts and will fancy their chances of another shock against Argentina, with the world watching the prime time kick-off tomorrow.
Usually, the entire Celtic support would be behind our right-back, who has excelled on the biggest stage.
But at this World Cup, it’s hard to shake the Lionel Messi fairytale story.
The Argentina and Paris Saint-Germain has won it all during his career. All apart from the FIFA World Cup.
Many would love to see him lift the trophy in what will almost certainly be his final opportunity.
For this writer, the sight of Messi with the iconic trophy in his hands would rank as one of the best sporting memories, outwith Celtic of course.
So, on one side we have a Celtic player bidding to win the World Cup. And on the other we have perhaps the greatest ever bidding to win it at the final attempt.
It’s going to be a head scratcher. At least the final will be easier.
