The wait is almost over for Celtic supporters as the Bhoys prepare to return to competitive action later this week.
The Hoops last game in the Scottish Premiership came around four weeks ago, as Ange Postecoglou’s side extended their lead at the top.
However, supporters have had to be patient in waiting to see Celtic back in competitive action after the season was brought to a halt.
Around this time of year, we have become used to the fixture schedule ramping up due to the Hoops’ involvement in so many competitions.
However, 2022 has been an unprecedented year for football, with the World Cup in Qatar taking place during the winter.
The Bhoys have had several players in action at the prestigious international tournament, and it has been fantastic to see the likes of Josip Juranovic and Daizen Maeda do so well for their countries.
I am sure the tournament kept plenty of us entertained, with Celtic links popping up across the competition.
But there is nothing that can match the feeling of watching Celtic and Ange Postecoglou’s side in action, which we have been starved of over the last month.
The wait is almost over for us supporters, though, as we enter the week of the return to action in the Scottish Premiership for all sides in this country.
Celtic fans and players alike will be buzzing to get back to action this week.
After what has felt like such a long period without Celtic’s involvement in competitive fixtures, I am sure it won’t just be fans who will be buzzing to be back.
Ange Postecoglou and his entire squad will also be looking forward to the restart and will be aiming to build upon their brilliant domestic start.
Of course, we face a tough first outing, travelling up to Pittodrie to take on a strong Aberdeen side under the management of Jim Goodwin.
However, with the Hoops sitting nine points clear at the top and raring to go after the break, I am sure the Bhoys will be full of confidence heading into this one.
The majority of Celtic fans would have been counting down the days until our return against Aberdeen. And now, we don’t have long to wait as we enter the week that we get to see the Hoops playing once again.
With around five days until our next fixture, it should prove to be an exciting week as we get back to the usual build-up ahead of our return.
