Kieran Tierney is back at Celtic and fans are happy with that.
But there has been some concern about the fact Tierney has returned and is yet to complete a full 90 minutes of competitive football this season.
Tierney has been ridiculously unlucky with injuries and did not play too much football last season, so it’s understandable why Brendan Rodgers wants to manage the full-back’s fitness.
Perhaps what is more frustrating is that Tierney isn’t firing on all cylinders just yet, and Ross McCormack thinks that is unexpected.

Ross McCormack thinks Celtic are ‘missing’ Greg Taylor
McCormack was speaking on the latest Open Goal podcast and after watching Tierney play 72 minutes against Rangers on Sunday, he thinks Celtic are missing Greg Taylor.
However, the former Scotland international claims Celtic fans don’t want to hear that because it is at the expense of hero Tierney.
McCormack said: “I said about Kieran Tierney, and I said I feel as if they were missing in Greg Taylor a little bit, but Celtic fans don’t want to hear that because it’s Kieran Tierney.
“But he’s not at the level which you were expecting him to be at when he came back.”
Tierney will only get better for Celtic on one condition
Tierney is back at Celtic, probably an environment where he is most comfortable because he is adored by the fans and plays for the club he supports.
There’s no way it’s a confidence issue with his current form and fitness, he just needs time to get up to full speed.
Tierney played 20 games for Arsenal last season, and while that might sound adequate, he was only on the field for 447 minutes in total.
That’s an average of just over 22 minutes per game. Tierney did get a full pre-season and that will have helped him, but we’re only seven games into the campaign.
Tierney is a world class left-back and provided he doesn’t pick up niggly injuries or a more serious issue, the Scotland star is only going to improve with more games.
