A sea of tartan has descended upon the United States, with thousands of passionate Scotland supporters making the transatlantic journey to back Steve Clarke’s side at the 2026 World Cup.

You can bet your bottom dollar that a fair few of them are Celtic supporters, with the drama of the recent campaign still ringing in the heads of everyone.

The Celtic Park faithful aren’t the only ones soaking up the atmosphere in Boston.

Referee John Beaton – the man at the heart of Celtic’s penalty drama against Motherwell in May – has also made the trip across the Atlantic.

Decked out in Scotland colours under the searing sun, members of the Tartan Army seized the chance to snap a photo with Beaton.

A few even poked fun at that infamous Fir Park penalty decision by playfully posing with their hands to their foreheads or using a football to mock the incident.

Although the Scotland fans in question weren’t sporting any club colours, it is safe to assume their domestic allegiances probably lie with the champions of Scotland.

Following such a chaotic end to the season, it is brilliant to see supporters finding the humour in the situation, with Beaton equally willing to take the banter in his stride.

Of course, everything would have been topped off by the fact that Scotland managed to secure victory against Haiti on Saturday.

Yes, it was ugly and tense, but boyhood Celtic fan John McGinn scored the only goal of the game to put three points on the board for the Scots and send them top of Group C.

Blood pressure will rise at Tynecastle and elsewhere…

Of course, such images won’t go down well with everybody, especially those at Tynecastle.

Hearts, Derek McInnes, and Tony Bloom still haven’t accepted Celtic’s title win, and they probably will never be able to digest it.

With Lawrence Shankland already at Rangers and McInnes reportedly set to follow suit, Hearts fans are facing a worst-case scenario.

What came so close to being a truly memorable campaign has rapidly descended into a complete nightmare for the Jambos.
