Kelechi Iheanacho is quickly becoming a fan favourite at Celtic.

The Nigerian has settled into life in Glasgow superbly and continued his hot streak by scoring his third goal of the season.

Iheanacho scored from 12 yards to give the Hoops the lead as Celtic beat Motherwell 3-2 in the dying seconds.

Brendan Rodgers’ substitutions paid off as Michel-Ange Balikwisha‘s cross found Daizen Maeda for the winner, while Benjamin Nygren also scored.

Celtic’s star had been withdrawn at the time of the winner, but that didn’t stop him joining in with the celebrations.

While the players embraced each other, the forward went one step further by hugging members of the crowd.

It wasn’t just the goal that saw the 29-year-old score, with footage online showing him challenging for every tackle, header and pass from the bench.

A win for the Hoops was much-needed going into the international break as they closed the gap on Hearts to two points in the Scottish Premiership table.

Kelechi Iheanacho is Celtic’s signing of the season already?

Considering the scepticism around the decision to sign Iheanacho, those concerns have already gone away.

Adam Idah’s departure to Swansea City left Rodgers scrambling around to get a striker, and he went with tried and tested from his Leicester City days.

After disappointing spells at Sevilla and Middlesbrough, the forward had a point to prove and has exceeded expectations already.

There is still a long way to go, but Iheanacho is already in the running for the signing of the season conversation.
