Celtic defender Josip Juranovic has made a visit to his former side Hajduk Split, ahead of their Croatian Cup final this week.

The full-back is currently on international duty after being selected for Zlatko Dalić’s squad that will take on Austria, Denmark and France at the beginning of next month.

Juranovic recently made a recovery from injury just in time for selection after sitting out of Celtic’s final five games of the season.

Having joined the Hoops last summer, Juranovic has become a popular figure around the club, between both the players and supporters.

It appears that the defender has that impact everywhere he goes, as he was welcomed back on his visit to former side, Hajduk Split, late last week.

As reported by Croatian media outlet Slobodna Dalmacija, Juranovic visited his former teammates ahead of their Croatian Cup final tomorrow evening against Rijeka.

Josip Juranovic’s incredible rise from Hajduk to Champions League nights at Celtic Park

Juranovic has had an incredible rise since the beginning of his football career back in 2013.

Starting off in the third tier, the full-back, who was a midfielder at the time, moved to Hajduk Split, where he spent five years.

However, he initially joined the B side before being promoted to the first team within a few months and going on to become a key contributor in the side.

Fast forward to 2022, and Juranovic is now an international regular with Croatia and will be playing Champions League football at Celtic next season.

However, the 26-year old will clearly never forget his routes.

It is a classy touch by the full-back to take the time to visit his former teammates whilst on international duty.

I am sure if he has the time, he will head down to take in their cup final tomorrow evening as they look to lift silverware this season.

Maybe, the right-back was able to give his former club some tips off the back of winning a double of his own in Glasgow this season.
