Celtic face Dundee United tomorrow night before hitting the road twice in quick succession against Ross County and Dundee under Brendan Rodgers.

The Bhoys reacted to their defeat against Rangers by sweeping St Mirren aside at Parkhead last weekend, with a double from Nicolas Kuhn sandwiched either side of Auston Trusty’s powerful header.

Extending their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 13 points, Celtic now face a swift run of domestic matches that will test their squad depth over the next few weeks due to the absence of a winter break this campaign.

By no means an easy task, Brendan Rodgers’ men come up against three sides with aspirations of forcing their way into the top six, starting with a bout against Jim Goodwin’s high-flying outfit at Parkhead on Wednesday evening.

The SFA confirmed Kevin Clancy will take charge of Celtic vs Dundee United. Now, officials have also been confirmed for trips to the Global Energy Stadium and Dens Park.

Officials named for Celtic trips to face Ross County and Dundee

Controversy is never too far away in Scottish football. Still, fans of all sides involved, alongside officiating teams, will sincerely hope that football can be the main talking point in the Bhoys’ trips to Dingwall and the City of Discovery.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s action, the SFA has appointed Matthew McDermid as the man with the whistle for Ross County vs Celtic. David McGeachie and David Dunne will run the lines in the early kick-off.

Greg Aitken has been drafted in as the main VAR operative, while Graeme Leslie is in support should any moments of contention arise.

Moving on, Don Robertson is charged with keeping order when Celtic visit Dundee next Tuesday. Robert Crawford and Alistair Mather will assist him. In addition, Andrew Dallas and Andrew McWilliam are on VAR.

January schedule set to be as hectic as December was for Celtic

Taking the lack of a winter break into account, Celtic will have played nine matches by the time January has come and gone.

Two vital Champions League matches against Young Boys and Aston Villa add to the load, but you can see why reinforcements may be necessary to offer extra balance within the group.

Honing in on one match at a time has to be Rodgers’ priority, with his immediate remit centred around putting the Scottish Premiership title race beyond doubt if it wasn’t already.

Celtic are the most revered force in Scotland and are expected to oblige. Nevertheless, nothing can be taken for granted at this stage in the season.
