Celtic enter two competitions this week as Brendan Rodgers sets out his stall for success across several fronts in his second spell.

With the Champions League clash against Slovan Bratislava coming into focus, it is important to remember that the Bhoys also have a chance to reach Hampden against Falkirk on Sunday.

Slotted in for a 3 pm kick-off, Celtic take on John McGlynn’s side on home soil, and Brendan Rodgers is excited to shake hands with his old colleague ahead of the clash.

He stated: “He is an amazing guy. He went and done a fantastic job at Raith and now you are seeing him do fantastically well with Falkirk. I look forward to seeing him and we will need to be at our best in the next round.”

Topping the Scottish Championship with maximum points from their opening five fixtures, the Bairns won’t be a straightforward opponent to overcome despite the evident financial gulf between both clubs.

Now, officials and VAR operatives have been announced for the tie, with a place in the last four of the Premier Sports Cup at stake.

Officials confirmed for Celtic vs Falkirk

While running the lines, Graeme Stewart and David Dunne are charged with swiftly communicating offside calls or spotting anything out with Scott’s peripheral vision.

Andrew Dallas heads up VAR as the main operative. Meanwhile, Andrew McWilliam is on hand to provide a second pair of eyes if any incidents require further scrutiny.

Tickets for the quarter-final are still widely available via the official Celtic website. Prices start at £25 for adults, £17 for concessions and £12 for children under the age of 13.

Hopefully, football can be the main talking point rather than decisions as the Bhoys look to continue their positive momentum on cup duty.

Opportunities to reach semi-finals will never be taken for granted by this club, so the onus is on Rodgers’ men to book their place at Hampden.
