Celtic have this morning found out their fixtures for the new Premiership season.
The SPFL have released the top-flight match-ups for the first 33 weeks of the season as the Hoops aim to win a third title in-a-row.
We were anticipating a tough opening, given the way the fixtures have worked in recent years, and that’s how things have played out.
Brendan Rodgers‘ side will begin their Premiership campaign with a home clash against Ross County.
The ‘Flag Day’ encounter will take place on Saturday 5 August at 12:30pm. It will be shown live on Sky Sports.

After that, things get pretty tasty. We’ll face last season’s third best team Aberdeen at Pittodrie before St. Johnstone come to Glasgow on matchday three.
The following week sees our first derby of the season. We’ll travel to Ibrox on Sunday 3 September for a noon kick-off, with that game again shown by Sky.
Matchday four is about as early as you can expect to see a league derby.
A home game against Dundee and a challenging trip to Livingston, by which time we’ll have began our Champions League campaign, make up the opening six fixtures.

The first round of games also sees us travel to Hearts and Hibernian (matchdays nine and ten respectively) so it’s going to be tasty.
Make no mistake about it, it’s a testing start for this Celtic team in the Brendan Rodgers era.
But the motivation is that, if we can come through this opening round in good shape, we’ll be in a good place to win the league.
We’re looking forward to getting going. Only five weeks to go.
In other news, Celtic have announced the retirement of Aaron Mooy
