Peter Grant is essentially Celtic TV’s regular co-commentator these days.
The former Parkhead midfielder gets to see the current squad up close and personal on matchdays and he knows exactly which stars have the best chance of success in Glasgow.
Plenty of players have impressed at Celtic and moved on down the line including the likes of Matt O’Riley and returning duo Kieran Tierney and Jota who both sold for mega bucks.
The latest in a long line of success stories, in Grant’s personal opinion, comes from the midfield area within Brendan Rodgers‘ squad.
Rodgers spent big on playmaker Arne Engels and Granty feels the Belgian is an “all-rounder” who has a serious chance of going all the way to the big time in his career.

Why Peter Grant says Celtic star Arne Engels can be ‘world class’
“He’s a talented boy. I’m a big supporter of him in the respect that I think he’s very focused,” Grant said on the 21-year-old.
“You can see that in the way even speaks. He’s got a wee tinge of Glasgow accent and there already. I think he’s a top-quality player.
“His running off the ball is exceptionally well. And people don’t usually see that, because people watch the ball play. His passing range, is different class.
“So as a midfield player, he’s got the all-round game. And listen, he’s involved in the national team of Belgium, and there are some world-class players in there.
“And if he doesn’t learn from him as well, I think he’s only going to get better and better and better. We’ve got a top player on our hands here. There’s no doubt in my mind of that.
“And he seems to have that focus as well, that he just wants to improve and get better. He knows he’s doing well.
“He’s got that confidence and belief that he’s got more in his locker as well that, I think, will make him one of the top players in Europe as well.”
Engels’ Celtic statistics prove he was value for record money
Engels has been excellent since he moved to Celtic from Augsburg last summer.
The Belgian international cost a record fee but has already looked to repay the £11million Celts spent in acquiring his services.
He has chipped in with his fair share of goals and assists in all competitions in Scotland this season so far and is the resident penalty kick taker at the club.

Even after a miss vs Ross County, manager Rodgers admitted he was confident with the player to make the retake count.
Engels has also added to his skills and helped his team win some big games with huge set-ups.
It’s likely he will be a major player in future and if he can play well vs Bayern Munich in the Champions League tomorrow evening, his star will shine even brighter.
