Celtic Head of Sports Science Anton McElhone ushers in another new nutrition deal at Lennoxtown
Celtic have signed another new partnership deal with a nutrition company following the appointment of Anton McElhone as the club’s Head of Sports Science.
Last month, McElhone shared his delight that the club signed up with Soccer Supplements – nutrition experts who work with clubs and international teams around the world.
Today, another similar link-up has been announced, with the new Lennoxtown staff member again included in the statement on the official club website.
The club are trumpeting a partnership with The Turmeric Co, which was founded by Wales international Thomas Hal Robson-Kanu.
Celtic say The Turmeric Co is the UK’s leading producer of naturally produced turmeric shots, which are used by a number of professional football clubs and elite athletes to enhance their recovery and holistic health.
McElhone said: “Excellence in terms of nutrition is a crucial element in football in order to assist endurance, recovery as well as general health and performance, so we are pleased to be partnering with a leading organisation in this area.
“We really look forward to working together with The Turmeric Co and their innovative products.”
Robson-Kanu meanwhile stated: “It’s exciting to have entered the Cinch Premiership, taking Turmeric across the border. We have really enjoyed developing this relationship with fitness and nutrition experts at Celtic Park who take natural functional nutrition very seriously.
“We enjoy working with people that understand turmeric, recognise the immense benefits that the ingredients can have and are willing to factor them into daily routines to aid recovery and performance.”
It seems that McElhone is making his presence at Lennoxtown felt, with two similar partnerships announced in the space of two months.
Signing these kinds of partnerships is likely the most cost-effective way to source the supplements and nutrition aids that Celtic want for the Ange Postecoglou era.
